// Stated Muhammad Rafiq Dar, Chief Spokesman JKLF.
The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has expressed its displeasure over the shocking remarks made by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa on UN recognized disputed status of the State of Jammu Kashmir (JK) while hearing a petition in Supreme Court on the Judges appointment case for Gilgit Baltistan, wherein he voiced for holding referendum in Azad Jammu Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan (AJK-GB — parts of the State of Jammu Kashmir under the control of Pakistan) and observed that India has now devoured the other parts of the State on 5th of August, 2019.
In a statement issued from the party’s central information office, the JKLF chief spokesman, Muhammad Rafiq Dar termed his remarks for a separate referendum for AJK and GB as unrealistic and contrary to the international agreements on Kashmir. He said that the statement of CJP questions the stated position of Pakistan and the efficacy of Article 257 of her constitution.
JKLF spokesman said that Instead of countering and condemning the illegal annexation of the parts of Jammu Kashmir by India on 5th August 2019, the CJP has actually admitted the defeat by observing that India has now devoured the other parts of the State under her control. Such a statement on the issue from the guardian of the constitution of Pakistan – a party to the dispute, speaks of their apologetic and defeatist approach, Rafiq Dar added.
The JKLF spokesman made it clear to both India and Pakistan that Kashmir is not a piece of cake or a commodity to be devoured by any of them. While rejecting the idea of regional referendum, Rafiq Dar reiterated its party stance that the fate of the entire State of Jammu Kashmir is to be decided at once and together by none other than its State Subjects.
JKLF Spokesman said that JKLF strives for the resumption of State’s lost sovereignty and independence, and termed it as the only viable solution to the Jammu Kashmir issue.
